 Shipping and Returns/Exchanges

Shipping. Once an order is placed it cannot be cancelled once it has been shipped. Once the order is received, you can send the item back by following the instructions in our returns section here.

We are an all-volunteer operation.  As a matter of routine, our shippers package items during weekends and ship via Canada Post on the following business day.  Orders may take between 1 and 7 days to be processed and filled.

To avoid delays, please provide a MAILING ADDRESS and not a physical address.  We do ship/mail to post office boxes.  To check if your address is in the Canada Post database please check it at Real time Address Verification | AddressComplete | Canada Post (canadapost-postescanada.ca).

If the delivery address is on a Canadian Forces Base or other military address, please ensure you include your full military mailing address which in most situations is different from most addresses needed by commercial courier companies.  Check with your Chief Clerk for your MAILING ADDRESS.

To protect our customers, The Canadian Military Police Association (CMPA) Kit shop is unable to change/intercept the shipping address of a package to alter its delivery, and The Canadian Military Police Association (CMPA) Kit shop will only ship to the address provided at checkout, the billing address must match the address associated with the method of payment.

Due to our Fraud Protection Policy, all online orders are required to have identical billing and shipping addresses. To minimize any fraudulent transactions, any orders with different shipping and billing addresses will be verified before being processed.

We are unable to combine shipping on multiple orders.

Duties and Import Charges -International customers might be charged additional fees for duties and import taxes when you receive your shipment.

Customs Fees - Fees that might be charged when importing goods come from a variety of sources, including the following fees:

  • Low value goods tax
  • Import Tax
  • Customs Duty
  • Brokerage and disbursement fees

Customs fees that apply to a shipment depend on its destination, value, and the carrier that transports the goods.

Customs Duty Fees

Customs duty is a charge applied to shipments by the receiving country or region's customs authority for shipments that are above the de-minimis. Customs duty is calculated based on the following factors:

  • the products declared value and shipping costs
  • the product category as determined by the HS code
  • the country or region of origin
  • the destination country's tariff rates.
  • applicable trade treaties

Duties and import tax based on the product's declared value might be affected by discounts or free

All items must be returned in their original packaging and unopened. If the product is defective or broken upon arrival, you have 30 days to return or exchange the item, which must be unworn and unused.  Online Returns and exchanges may be returned to the “CMPA Kit shop” by mail (please see Returning By Mail for instructions).  For returns, the Canadian Military Police Association (CMPA) Kit shop will refund full merchandise price and the original shipping the customer was charged if there is a problem with the product or the error is ours.  For exchanges or returns where we are not at fault, original shipping is not refunded.  If an item was purchased while on sale, it is the sale price that will be refunded, not the full price.
